"I believe one of the most important parts of counseling is the relationship between therapist and client". The therapeutic connection between us needs to be based on safety, respect, and unconditional positive regard for you and what you are needing. Once this is established I will work with you to discover what it is that you are needing. I want to support you and unlock your full potential so you can be the best version of you as well as be successful in your life. We are in this together and you are not alone. I believe one of the biggest fears a human being can experience is being or feeling alone, as well as, being or feeling helpless. I have personally experienced all of these. What helped me was connecting with someone that effectively guided my journey leading me to a life of hope, healing, and empowerment to be and feel my best.
It can take a lot of courage to seek out support. Your need to feel safe, comfortable, respected, and supported is my highest priority. The relationship with a counselor is a crucial component of the healing process. I believe most people want to be and feel their best, so let’s find your true potential.

My passion for mental Health was found in 2007 when I worked as a counselor for the State of Utah's legal system with Juvenile Justice Services. I recognized a greater need to help those in distress by listening to their life experiences and gain a better understanding of their emotional distress. The need for hope and healing to these individuals was crucial and finding effective solutions became my focus and drive. Human psychological distress/pain can come from any experience in life and guiding clients to find a way to feel hope and relief from emotional distress/pain is the goal. The objective is helping clients have short and long-term relief from unwanted memories or symptoms such as pictures, sounds, thoughts, feelings, memories, dreams, and body sensations. It is my honor and duty to help clients feel safe and comfortable in this process, while also helping them heal from psychological pain. “To hear is to doubt, to see is to be deceived but to feel is to believe” (Edmund Parker Sr).

My interest in mental health was sparked by the adversity I faced as an adolescent. Upon learning how to utilize therapeutic skills, I became a mental health advocate, hosting public speaking events for high school and college students. Over the past seven years, I have conducted research on addiction, emotional skill-based parenting interventions, and the Gottman Method. I have gained valuable clinical experience as a wilderness therapy guide and led psychoeducational group therapy on Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational interviewing (MI), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for diverse populations in inpatient and outpatient settings.
As a counselor, I am committed to creating a nonjudgmental and safe space where you can freely express yourself. I enjoy working with adults struggling to manage symptoms of trauma, anxiety, depression, relational conflict, and insecure attachment. I utilize a trauma-informed psychodynamic approach in addition to elements of CBT, DBT, emotion-focused therapy, and individual-focused Alderian theory to help clients explore and understand the underlying root cause of their emotions and behaviors to break their cycle of unhappiness, strengthen their well-being, and cultivate resilience.

Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing is clinically researched & evidence based psychotherapy practice. This unique type of psychotherapy focuses on the adaptive information processing for a specific experience(s) and/or life events. In this form of therapy a person being treated is asked to recall a distressing experience(s) while counselor provides bilateral sensory input, such as various eye movements and or various options of bilateral sensory techniques. Therapist will customize the most effective bilateral stimulation method to best serve client need. It is important for the client to understand the EMDR process. This will be addressed and explained in the first appointment along with any other questions necessary for the client to feel safe and comfortable.
